acquaint the students with the benefits of interculturalexchange and to
promote Internationalism, volunteers of AFS ( American Field Services)
conducted a workshop for students of class IX, X and XI in our school premises
on 19 April 2016. AFS is a volunteer driven non governmental , non- profit
organization with headquarters in New York which provides intercultural
learning opportunities and experiences for young people to develop knowledge
skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world. The
message was clear that we must build bridges of understanding and mutual
respect between countries around the world through exchange programmes.
Ms. InderjeetKaurKalra and Ms. KanchanSood attended a two-day
workshop on capacity Building programme in Scholastic Aspects of CCE at Mamta Modern Senior
Secondary School, Vikaspuri on 1 and 2April
2016. The resource persons Ms. AlkaKher and Ms. Archana Sharma highlighted
on the conceptual and fundamental background of CCE. They also emphasized on
sharing various innovative ideas that would help to implement CCE effectively
as a tool in all schools. The session empowered the teachers to solve their own
challenges in a given situation. It was a rewarding and enriching experience
for one and all.
Nagar and Ms. NyanDahiya attended a
workshop on Performance Management of School staff and students at KIIT World
School, Pitampura on 26 April 2016.
The Resource person Mr. Martin Mathews, former Executive Head Teacher, UK and
Mr. Lokesh Kumar , Operations Manager Globals.
The prime objective of the workshop was to provide key strategic components
that underpin effective performance management processes along with
technological support to make performance management effective. Various
individual and group activities were held to train the trainees to track and
monitor the performance of staff effectively. The learning experience has been
redefined. Different ways like Achievement, Recognition. The work itself &
Advancements are a few ways to motivate the individuals to come out of comfort
zone and excel. The elevated view of being a teacher to develop discussed at
length in the workshop.

addressed the need for online etiquettes and other parameters such as proper
exchange of information,maintenanceof digital security and the need to

school wherein they participated a very informative and exciting workshop in
association with SPACE Organization, titled Rendezvous with the evening sky
held in the school premises on 16 April 2016. The interactive session briefed
the students about different phases of moon and other celestial bodies. Later
after the sunset, students gathered in the main school ground to gaze at the
moon , stars and Planet Jupiter through the high resolution telescope installed
in the ground.

Children went back home more learned and enthralled after viewing the natural
art gallery being created by God - The Sky.
Capacity Building Programme on Scholistic Aspects of CCE held
on 22 and 23 April 2016 at Presidium School, Ashok Vihar. The Training Programme was attended by Ms.
Anita Chawla and Ms. Tanvi D Mistry of Modern Public
School. An initiative was taken by CBSE to strengthen the implementation of CCE
Scheme for better student learning. It laid emphasis on thought process and
de-emphasis memorization and evaluation should be made an integral part of teaching learning
process. Learning strategies should be on the basis of regular diagnosis
followed by remedial instruction.
Mrs. SindhuVikram PGT Biology attended a training workshop on Anti
Malaria operations held at MCD Primary school Auditorium on 28 April
2016(Thursday). The objective of the workshop was to sensitize teachers about
various vector borne diseases and their potential harm so that the teaching
community can propagate awareness on preventive measures of these diseases in
school children. of Health Scheme
Department for Disease Control in Rohini zone
enlightened the audience in detail about three fatal diseases namely malaria,
dengue and chikunguniya. They discussed the
life cycle of the vectors of these diseases and suggested simple but effective
ways to control them.
students of class XI and XII belonging to medical stream along with Mrs. Sindhu Vikram, attended CATALYST-2016 a medical
exhibition organised by All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) on 30 April
2016. the event provided a platform for the students to interact with topper AIIMsonians and get motivation and direction for
pursuing medicine as their profession. The students also enjoyed the exhibits
of live specimens of body organs. The hands on experience which students get
from physiology lab helped them in further clarifying their concepts. It was a
highly encouraging educational experience for the students.
In respect of UN Road Safety Day, a workshop on the topic of
Road Safety and Traffic Rules was held in school on 4 May 2016. The resource
person ASI Mahesh Sharma along with 2 Rotraitors conducted the workshop guided the students to follow the traffic rules.
It was really informative workshop for the students and was
a good learning experience for one & all.

A workshop was organised in KIIT School on
March 16, 2016. It was attended by Ms. Sarika Parashar & Ms. Chitra Khosla. Ms. Rupam Sah was the resource
person. It was a training programme on ?innovation & Leadership
Skills. It was an interactive session supplemented with group work &
discussions. Various leadership skills were discussed and the challenges one
can face as a leader and the ways to overcome these challenges. It was really a
good session for learners in giving & achieving the best in education.
