  Title : Visit of Japanese delegates

Modern Public School believes in the virtue of sharing, be it the sharing of resources or ideas. Treading the same path, Modernites shared their teaching-learning methodology with eminent Japanese delegates from Japan Travel Bureau who visited the school premises to witness the functioning of the school on February 9, 2019. The school fraternity received the guests cordially in the traditional Indian manner. The school choir welcomed the distinguished guests melodiously. The prominent visitors Mr. Ken Nakano, experienced Coordinator JTB International Education and Exchange, Mr. Hajime Kurihara, Coordinator JTB GMS, Mr. Satoru Shigyo, Executive Coordinator, JTB India, Ms. Yoko Torii Senior Manager- Education JTB India and Ms. Hanana Ota were given a hospitable tour of the school which included the observation of 3D Lab, ATL Lab, School Arena and classrooms. The emissaries not only cherished our hospitality but also appreciated our school practices. The visit proved to be an enlightening session for both, the guests and the hosts as it was a prefect exchange of ideas and culture.

         
         
  Title : Hindi Recitation Competition Class II

To spread the fragrance of poetry among the children, an interclass Hindi Recitation Competition for the students of class II was organized on 6 February 2019(Wednesday). 

The participants got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. They recited different poems on Swachta with great zeal and enthusiasm. They were applauded for their confident stage performance.

         
     
  Title : Annual Prize Distribution and Republic Day Celebration

All our dreams are reachable, if we are optimistic and have an unrelenting desire to achieve them.

The school celebrated Indias 70th Republic Day with Patriotic fervour and zest and chose this momentous day to host the Annual Prize Distribution ceremony to recognize and honour the hardwork and efforts of the diligent students of the school. The event was cherished by the benign presence of revered Chief Guest Dr. D. D. Chaturvedi , Associate Professor , Department of Economics at Sri Guru Govind Singh College of Commerce, Honourable Madam Principal, Ms. Alka Kapur ,Honourable Director Academics , Ms. Geeta  Sehgal and Vice Principal , Ms. Mena Mittle.

The programme commenced with the formal welcome of the guests followed by flag hoisting and everyone joined together in the singing of the National Anthem. The National Pledge which is an oath of allegiance to the republic of India was recited by one and all to mark the occasion. The speech was given by Drishti Kumar whose eloquence motivated the students to be enlightened citizens of the country, to be aware of the challenges that the country faces and contribute to the nations progress.

The Annual School report was read out by Mayank Dhoundiyal of Class XII and Manmeet Kaur of Class XI who highlighted the glorious saga of the accomplishments of the school during the year in academics and extra-curricular activities.

This was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony. It was a proud moment for the prize winners as they stepped on the arena to receive the gold medals, mementoes and trophies from the Chief Guest accompanied by the Honourable Principal of the school. Amidst heavy applause, the ceremony was inherently a stupendous show, conferring strength and encouragement upon every individual student.

The Chief Guest applauded the awardees and emphasised  the importance of discipline in ones life. He enthralled the audience with inspirational stories and reiterated the need for being resolute in our path to achieve our goals. Vote of thanks was proposed by the school Principal, Ms. Alka Kapur.

         
         
  Title : Annual Exhibition Sankalp Se Siddhi

The exhibition Sankalp Se Siddhi. A celebration of Creativity

Every art form when hidden creates curiosity but when exhibited wins applause, hearts and becomes an epic.

19 January 2019 was a day of gaiety, galore, lighting and fanfare as Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh organized a phenomenal exhibition Sankalp Se Siddhi depicting a kaleidoscopic history of India from the ancient past to the present day. The exhibits encapsulated Indias progression in accordance with 17 Sustainable Goals set by the United Nations.

The Chief Guests for the occasion were His Excellency Rabie Narsh, The Ambassador of Lebanon, Mrs. Ira Sehgal (IAS), Sub Divisional MagistrateMr. Ssumier. S. Pasricha, Indian Actor and Comedian,  Mr. Kousuke Noguchi, Director for Japanese Language and Japanese Studies. Other guests of Honour present on the occasion were Shri Y.P.Purang, Retd. Deputy director of Education, Mrs. Anima Horo, Deputy Director North West A, Mrs. Divya Talwar, Sr. Creative Director The Quint , Mumbai. Other esteemed dignitaries, eminent educationists, Principals from various renowned schools along with the members of the School Managing Committee also graced the event  with their benign presence .

A glittering bonanza of skits, musical performances, orchestra and dance presentations was staged highlighting the predicament of the Mother Earth along with different ways to find a breakthrough to maintain its  sustainability.

The guests were awestruck with the show put up by the ebullient dancers presenting thematic ballad The Lost Paradise dwelling on the harsh reality that the Earth?s natural resources are being depleted due to the inconsiderate attitude of mankind. The sequel Renaissance of the Lost Paradise epitomized the mindful ways to restore the elegance of Mother Earth. Gender Equality was yet another concern raised amongst the masses through an enactment namely Education an investment in knowledge.

From cultural extravaganza the exhibition moved into the galore of exhibits wherein the students unleashed their creativity and enthusiasm. Every student had put in immense efforts and all of them were positioned at their stations with their gadgets, models and 3D Charts on display. The perfect oration and confidence with which they explained their exhibits was highly commendable. The entire school wore a festive look. The walkway was decked up with thought provoking slogans, dadoes and grooves.

The statuettes related to 17 Sustainable Goals such as Health and Well being, Infrastructure and Industry, Protection of Water Resources, Resilient City, Quality education, Gender Equality, to name a few, encouraged the young scholars to put their learning in action by making judicious use of resources.

 

Future Ready School was the highlight of the Exhibition. It gave a glimpse of how the schools would be in future with the advancement of technology. The visitors walked through the replica of the Futuristic School. The youngsters were thrilled to see the human teachers being replaced by Robots and learning taking place through e-books and I Pads.

The Chief Guest in his address reiterated the fact that the need of the hour is to focus on environmentally sustainable economic growth that meets the needs of all without leaving future generation with fewer natural resources than those we enjoy today. His Excellency Rabie Narsh appreciated the choice of the theme and its immense impact on the minds of youth. He congratulated Madam Principal   for her visionary approach and her zeal to sensitize the youth with such a paramount  proposition. The exhibition culminated with Vote Of Thanks proposed by the School Principal Ms. Alka Kapur to the Chief Guests, eminent dignitaries and educationists for sparing their valuable time to witness the meticulous work of the students. Madam also expressed her gratitude to the Stakeholders of the school without whom the exhibition would not have been the talk of the town.

The exhibition Sankalp Se Siddhi was challenging yet fulfilling and rewarding for the entire learning fraternity.

         
         
  Title : English Declamation

Never let the things you want make you forget the things you have.

Students of class III felt blessed and honoured participating in English Declamation Competition on 26.12.2018 (Wednesday) on the topic Count Your Blessings. Their views motivated the audience to focus on what they have received in life and not crib for what they do not have.

         
  Title : Safety does not happen by accident, it is a pre-planned affair

Modern Public School prioritizes health and safety of students and apprises them regularly with measures to ensure their wellbeing. In pursuance to the same, the students were re-apprised with the POCSO Act during the special address by the Principal Ms. Alka Kapur during the morning assembly. They were familiarized with the legal provisions of the act and were also motivated to report any kind of assault to the authorities instead of concealing it. Also, the students were acquainted with the hazards of Rubella Virus and were encouraged to get vaccinated against the deadly and contagious virus in order to ensure good health for self and society. It was indeed an enlightening speech as it led to awareness regarding essential matters of health and safety.

 

       
  Title : Christmas Celebration

Christmas is forever, not for just one day, for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away.

Modernites believe in inculcating humanity, sharing and kindness among students and there is no better occasion than the celebration of Christmas to materialize the aim. Treading the same path Christmas was celebrated by the school on December 24, 2018 through an exclusive assembly in the elegant style of Modernites. The event commenced with a melodious Christmas Carol followed by the demonstration of an enlightening video showcasing the rise of Lord Jesus, his principles and sacrifices for mankind. The appearance of Santa filled the spectators with enthusiasm. The little ones cherished the event in their own style by emerging with creative cards under Christmas Themed Card Making Activity. The show was culminated by the eloquent speech of Madam Principal Ms Alka Kapur, who in her address encouraged the students to share their privileges with the underprivileged. The students were motivated to realize their responsibilities as privileged citizens and be kind to the have-nots. The celebration of Christmas proved to be a perfect start to the morning filled with instillation of virtues in the heart of all.

 

         
         
  Title : Hindi Declamation Competition

Speech  is one of the important medium to express our views, keeping this in mind Modern Public School organized a Hindi Declamation Competition for the students of Class II on 19 December 2018(Wednesday). The students expressed their views on Niyam Safal Jeevan Ka Aadhar  and iterated he importance of a disciplined life. The participants spoke with panache and mesmerized the revered judges and the young audience. It was an extremely enriching experience for the students.

         
         
  Title : Farewell Ceremony for class XII

Dont be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetime, is certain for whose who are friends.

The school organised Sai Sandhya on the occasion of Farewell Ceremony for class XII on December 14, 2018. They were welcomed with a Tilak Ceremony. The event was conducted solemnly evoking mixed feelings of tear and joy. The Principal in her inspiring speech counselled the students to be pragmatic, down to earth and be focused towards their goals. All the faculty members wished them luck for their board examination and cheered them to move on into new portals of their ensuing journey. The students shared their memories and made everyone nostalgic. The day was great filled with nostalgia, fun and excitement.

         
         
  Title : Night Camp 2018

Teachers become mothers,

Buddies become siblings,

Yes.its night camp again.!!

Night camp 2018 concluded as yet another  gala event for the young modernites of class Pre School to class IV on December 1 and 2,2018(Saturday and Sunday ).

The day began with a warm welcome of the students, wherein colourful swings awaited them. They had a great time swinging and riding with their friends and teachers. The craft activities organised for each class poked their imagination.

The evening celebrations began with lip-smacking snacks followed by mind-boggling games. The cultural programme held was another attraction of the day which included dance performances ,fashion show, circus performances and singing and grooving on latest dance tunes.

The yummy dinner served satisfied the hunger pangs of the kids and they all happily went to bed feeling satiated.

The morning sun brought with it an aerobics session and hot bournvita followed by a hilarious puppet show  and tattoo making session. Finally it was time to bid farewell to this fun-fiesta . With a heavy heart but shining smiles the students went back home.
