In a pursuit to bring smiles and cheers on the faces of
students of Sarthak Prayas , a Lantern Making activity was organized for on
November 16, 2016. They were taught the skill to make beautifully coloured
lanterns with a battery operated light in it. Material such as kite papers,
bamboo sticks were used that brightened the effect of the lanterns. All the
children participated in the activity with a lot of enthusiasm and fervour. The
small learning session transcended recreational feeling breaking the monotony
of the day.

In an endeavour on Beti Swabhiman Divas was celebrated under
the aegis of District Disaster Management Authority at Maharaja Agrasen
Institute Of Technology , Rohini on 13 November 2016.A plethora of activities
were organised which showcased the hidden talents of students.
Pink Half Marathon was the most striking event wherein
sprinters ran to spread awareness of the theme.Furthermore Rangoli and Poster
making competitions added myriad of colours. Medals and certificates pumped up
the energies of all the participants.The activities sensitised everyone to
develop compassion and sympathy towards our prized possessions - the Girls with
a promise to give them wings to fly.

The Prakash Utsav i.e birth anniversary
of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev was celebrated with much spiritual fervor
in the school. A sense of peace and tranquility filled the air. A special
assembly was put up on the occasion. The festive event commemorated with Prabhat
Pheri which was led by five children who were dressed up as Panj
Pyare. This was followed by the Shabad recitation by the students
epitomizing their faith in the glory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Ek Onkar and Japji
Sahib was recited and Karah Prasad was distributed to
School also witnessed addition of another fascinating feather in its precious cap of honour as Madam Principal inaugurated the magnificent LED screen installed in the school premises. This will surely be instrumental in enhancing teaching learning process.
It was indeed a
spiritual morning wherein the students and teachers were infused with a feeling
of brotherhood, humanity and a firm belief in the Almighty.

A story telling session on Korean Fairy Tales was organized
for classes II, III and IV on 10.11.2016 (Thursday). The stories were presented by a collaborative
team from the Korean Culture Centre
(India) and Assitej India. The
artists presented three different Korean tales, The Woodcutter and the Heavenly
Maiden, Mr. Moon and Ms. Sun and The Faithful Daughter- Sim Cheong in
three different styles. They amazed the students with their dramatization
skills and drew thunderous applauses from the audience. The students had a
great time watching their presentation.

class III celebrated China Day on 4 November 2016(Friday) and enjoyed a voyage
to our very own neighbouring country The Peoples Republic of China.
As a Chinese proverb says, The man who moves a mountain,
begins by carrying away small stones, likewise, our small but firm steps to
intermingle with the world help us to become global citizens. The celebration
gave the students a deep insight of the Chinese culture and tradition. Lotus
Dance, Fan Dance, Farmers Hat Dance and Dragon Dance were the main attractions

A Hindi Declamation Competition was organized for the
students of Class VI on November 3, 2016, on the theme Asafalta Hi Safalta Ki
Sidhi Hai. It was overwhelming to observe wonderful participation by the
students. The budding orators spellbound all the spectators with their
mind-luring speeches wherein they cited illustrations from the lives of icons
like Abraham Lincoln, Robert Clive and Bill Gates. The participants, with their
power of speech, successfully established the role of the failure in begetting
success, and their diligent efforts were praised by the jury. The contest
proved to be an inspirational learning experience for both, the speakers as
well as the listeners.

In continuation with the exercise to create awareness among
the students about disaster management a fire mock drill was conducted for the
students and teachers of the school on 2 November 2016. A group of fire
fighters from Fire safety Management Academy, Rohini, headed by station officer
Kaushal Kishore armed with necessary paraphernalia required for the fighting
and rescue operations positioned themselves at various points to demonstrate to
the children various techniques to tackle fire accidents.
The station officer explained and demonstrated different
improvised methods being followed to rescue and evacuate people caught in such
emergency situations besides explaining the ways to operate fire extinguishers
and use first aid techniques. They also enriched the students about the
scientific principles and logics behind extinguishing fire while demonstrating
instruments like curtain branch, UK
branch, extension ladder and electric fire foams.

It was a matter of exuberance and pride as our school hosted Centre Level Children Science Congress on Thursday October 27, 2016. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, General Secretary, NCSC and Mr. Chhikhara, Head of Office, Science Centre Number - 1 were the guests of honour. The event witnessed the participation of over 20 teams in senior category and 10 teams in Junior category from various schools of repute.
Program commenced with the floral welcome of the guests followed by a cultural extravaganza. Our students also participated in both the categories and successfully qualified for the state level. It was a privilege to host such a reputable event for the entire Modern Public School fraternity.
